I haven’t picked up an instrument in perhaps 30 years, but your reference to your Casio keyboard filled me with a deep and fond remembrance of knocking out Rod Stewart’s “Some Guys Have All the Luck” back in the glorious 80s.
"The Heat is On" was big when I was in middle school band, too. I was handed a baritone for beginner band and stuck with that throughout so I never got to partake in the fun. I was always near the sax section and one kid would play the riff from "The Heat is On" at *every* opportunity...any break in the action, there it was. For multiple years. It's forever sealed into my memory, along with my favorite from that time - "Baby Elephant Walk" where the baritones and tubas had a blast.
